1. Project goal:

creation of a consortium of 10 EU universities and 10 universities from Eastern Europe and the Caucasus region to create a funded mobility scheme.

2. Objectives of the project:

1) development of sectoral cooperation in the field of higher education through structured cooperation between partner universities and the involvement of regional university networks as associated partners;
2) the expansion of interpersonal contacts as the most important prerequisite for mutual understanding, carried out on the basis of academic mobility at all levels;
3) development of civil society and dialogue on human rights and fundamental freedoms through the involvement of non-governmental organizations and non-governmental associations in the project as associated partners.

3. Brief description of the project:

The project is being implemented by a consortium of universities in Western Europe - Italy, Great Britain, Belgium, Germany, Sweden, France, Finland and Poland - together with universities of the Republic of Belarus, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Georgia and the Republic of Moldova. The overall project management is entrusted to the university coordinator of the project - University of Bologna
As part of the project, representatives of partner universities have the opportunity to study and internships at 10 universities from the European Union, while the travel and accommodation costs of exchange participants will be fully covered by the project.
The total number of academic exchanges envisaged by the project is 196, of which 29 are for Belarus. At the same time, the following types of mobility are included: internships for students for a period of up to a year, short-term and long-term (degree) internships for undergraduates and graduate students, short-term internships for young scientists and teachers for a period of 1 to 6 months. Organization of academic exchanges is carried out in the form of competitions, which take place 2-3 times during the life cycle of the project.
The specified project of international technical assistance is aimed at the development of academic mobility, which in turn is a significant factor in the modernization of various elements of the higher education system of the Republic of Belarus and its integration into the European educational space.

4. Brief plan of project activities:

1) technical support for the preparation of a base for exchanges - carried out by each project partner: announcement of competitions, organization of selection of candidates, preparation of necessary documents, support of visa issues, transfer of loans, etc.);
2) technical assistance in the implementation of exchanges;
3) monitoring and disseminating the results of exchanges carried out by Belarusian partner universities: issuing certificates and other necessary documents to exchange participants, academic recognition of the results of exchanges, developing new curricula / programs; exchange of experience of internships.
4) project management in the Republic of Belarus: monitoring of each stage of the project (selection of participants, implementation of mobility, recognition of the results of mobility, preparation of interim reports, etc.), financial management of the project, communication between project partners, preparation of meetings with partners;
5) providing information to the main partner when developing, launching and updating the project site;
6) participation in working meetings.

5. Expected results:

1) increased the competitiveness and attractiveness of higher education institutions within the country and the region;
2) increased internationalization of curricula and the student community based on an increase in the number of foreign students at the university;
3) expanded opportunities for training and research abroad for scientists and university staff, created a basis for establishing fruitful international contacts with the prospect of further cooperation;
4) supported the implementation of the Bologna Process within the partner universities and participating countries;
5) assistance was provided in expanding relations between universities in the development of mechanisms for the recognition of learning outcomes and qualifications obtained abroad, the creation of regional bilateral or multilateral schemes of academic mobility;
6) had a significant impact on the international services of the higher education institutions participating in the project, since they are the main driving forces behind the implementation of the project and the internationalization of universities.
