General information about the product:

1. Aim:

Increasing the attractiveness of higher education, strengthening the integration of education, science and innovation; strengthening the internationalization of higher education systems in accordance with the main provisions of the Bologna process.

2. Tasks:

  • conducting a comprehensive study of the level of internationalization of higher education in the countries involved in the project;
  • development of models for the implementation of internationalization strategies;
  • training and professional development of HEI administrative staff;
  • creation of a network of experts in the field of internationalization of higher education;
  • development of recommendations for the harmonization of internationalization strategies in the EU, Russia, Belarus and Armenia.

3. Brief description of the project:

The project corresponds to the priority directions of the development of higher education in the Republic of Belarus in terms of introducing the key elements of the European Higher Education Area into the national education system in accordance with the provisions of the Roadmap for the Development of the Higher Education System for the Republic of Belarus, adopted at the Conference of Ministers of Education of the Member States of the European Higher Education Area ( Yerevan, May 15, 2015) and by the order of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus dated July 30, 2015 No. 628 "On taking measures to introduce instruments of the European Higher Education Area into the national education system for the period 2015-2018."

The implementation of the project will contribute to increasing the competitiveness of higher education of the Republic of Belarus in the global educational space and the further development of international cooperation with educational and scientific institutions of foreign states.

The project is being implemented by a consortium of partners from the EU and CIS countries, consisting of 13 universities, 3 ministries, and 1 center. The project coordinator is the University of Seville (Spain). On the part of Belarus, the Belarusian State University, the Belarusian Trade and Economic University of Consumer Cooperatives, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus take part in the project.

4. Brief plan of project activities:

  • Quality assurance;
  • Survey and analysis of documents (research visits will be carried out to partner institutions of the EU countries, an analysis of the level of internationalization will also be carried out, a survey is also planned in which 3 target groups will be interviewed, as well as a SWOT analysis from 4 sides (EU, Russia, Belarus , Armenia);
  • Methodology development (conducting an in-depth analysis seminar in Seville and a methodological questionnaire development seminar in Birmingham);
  • Development of a comprehensive internationalization strategy framework (this work will include a methodological seminar in Minsk on the development of internationalization action plans, presentation and
  • discussion of internationalization action plans, a seminar on the progress of the project and five retraining courses);
  • Activities for the dissemination and use of the project results (it is planned to publish a project book, a set of marketing materials for the project, develop a project web page; a final conference on the project will be held in Moscow, communities of experts in the field of internationalization of higher education will also be created and cooperation agreements between universities will be signed -partners).

5. Expected results:

It is expected that the project will contribute to the development of the international activities of the HEIs of the countries involved in the project. At the level of individual HEIs, the project will contribute to increasing knowledge about the level of internationalization, management of international activities, as well as the development of human resources for employees of international HEI services. Materials of trainings and conducted studies will be available for distribution not only for project partners, but also for all HEIs, thereby the project will contribute to the development of international activities of HEIs of partner countries at the national level. The network of partners created as a result of the project will continue to cooperate after the end of the project on the basis of signed cooperation agreements, thereby ensuring the sustainability of the project results.
