Belarusian State University belongs to a highly internationalized university community and puts a great attention to cooperation with foreign partners both at inter-university level and within international projects framework. 30-35 international projects focused on academic exchanges, modernization of university management, design of joint study programmes, development of infrastructure, organization of conferences, seminars and other events within such programmes as Tempus, Erasmus Mundus, Jean Monnet, EU Cross-Border Cooperation, DAAD, FPB-Belarus, SIDA, VISBY, Baltic University, CIMO, Visegrad Fund, CEI Fund, Eurasia, UNICEF, UNESCO and many others are implemented at BSU annually. Currently BSU is successfully involved into 9 Tempus and 6 Erasmus Mundus projects addressing academic mobility (EMA 2), curricular development (ACES, NETCENG, TRADIR, Сomolte, ENERGY), human security (HUMAN), promotion of innovations (SUCSID), university management (INURE) and internationalization (PICASA). BSU is also involved into 10 Erasmus+ projects: 9 CBHE projects (FABLAB, HARMONY, LNSS, PHYSICS, APPLE, eDrones,FOSTERC, InnoCENS, PRINTeL) and 1 Jean Monnet project (EU-Pro).
To provide efficient management and rise funding for international research and educational projects International Programmes and Projects Office was created in 2009 within the Department of International Relations. Four staff members bring their competencies and provide wide range of services from partner search and grantwriting to financial management of projects, legal support and compliance with national and internal regulations. The Office also provides information and methodological support for BSU units and faculties and contributes to building competencies of BSU staff by organizing seminars, presentations and other events on project management and internationalization.
In developing project applications BSU follows its strategic documents, including 2016-2020 Strategic Development Program, Policy in the Sphere of Quality and 2016-2020 BSU Internationalization Strategy.
For today BSU has accumulated extensive Database of Project Proposals covering key BSU strategic priorities in major areas of BSU development. Wide range of topics covered by BSU project ideas provides ample opportunities on finding areas of common goals and shared interests with BSU to develop joint projects and cooperate within the framework of international programmes.
